Chapter 7 Questions

  1. I think this is because often on a hot summers day, humans don’t function properly and this is most likely how Nick the “narrator” saw how Gatsby and Daisy weren’t acting like they usually would if Tom was around.
  2. The way Daisy talks towards Gatsby is noticeable in the way she says “you are always so cool” This is when Tom realises that Daisy has told Gatsby that she loves him.
  3. Gatsby recognises that Daisys voice is “full of money” I think this is telling us that Daisy has money and has been around money for her whole life that she has enough money that she can do irresponsible things like the death of Myrtle.
  4. Tom doesn’t want Mr Willson to find out about his affair with his wife Myrtle so he can move West and disapear from Tom .
  5. Gatsby believes that when Daisy tells Tom she never loves him it will erase all that has happened over the past 5 years With Tom and Daisy.
  6. When Tom his heading into town he stops at the Wilsons station even though he has enough fuel to get to town he still goes to the Wilsons to see Myrtle.
  7. Gatsby is a bootlegger and got his money though Drugstores, sale of alcohol and mob ties with Meyer-wolfshiem.
